Thank you for stopping by!  If you are looking for my website, look no further, you are here!  This blog/website follows both my personal and professional life- my own little online photo album and journal that provides information for clients as well as a glimpse into my life and personality.  Maybe a little less formal, maybe a little more fun? I don’t know, you tell me!  Leave me a comment and let me know what you think!

Twin Rocks, Rockaway Beach, Oregon Wedding: Lena + Nick

Lena and Nick were married at Rockaway Beach.  I could have done a whole blog post on the morning before the wedding.  We had some time before the ceremony, so we went down to the beach for some pictures.  I just love these photos of Lena with her girls.

I think the bottom two are favorites from the day, so sweet!

Sand angels on the beach :)

I didn’t really know what to expect for Lena & Nick’s ceremony site.  She had told me the location didn’t really have an address, but you could see the beach, but it wasn’t on the beach.  When we arrived, I was in love. Lena and Nick found this perfect little nook for their small, intimate wedding.  They knew they wanted to get married on the beach, but had grandparents where getting down to the beach would be a challenge.  So, they found this beautiful path, at the end of the path you can see the beach.  The grandparents stayed on the path, and the rest of the guests gathered on the beach.  It was a perfect and unique combination for a beautiful ceremony site.

Since Lena and Nick had waited to see eachother till the ceremony, Becca and I were able to capture both expressions.

Another fun, and cute surprise… Nick thought the wedding band was the engagment ring, and the engagement ring (ie. big rock) was the wedding band, so Lena hadn’t seen her engagement ring until they said I do.  Based on the picture on the right, I think she was excited :)

Lena could win an award or start a wedding planning business with all her DIY personal touches she added to the reception.  So cute and thoughtful, and so many good ideas!

Cheers!  Congratulations Lena and Nick!  Thank you so much for inviting us to be apart of your day.  To see more images from their wedding, **CLICK HERE** for the slideshow.  Also, a special thank you to Jeanne the host of the beach house, who made such a wonderful meal, and sent us home wonderful to go meals!  It was delicious!

Oregon Golf Club, West Linn, Oregon Wedding: Karen + Cody

Karen and Cody tied the knot at the Oregon Golf Club in West Linn, Oregon on one of the hottest days of the summer!  Gotta love the NW, the week prior we were photographing a wedding in pouring down rain and just one week later, blazing hot!  Never the less, we had a blast with Karen and Cody’s family and friends!

I love Karen’s expression as her dad just gave her away, so sweet!

Four flower girls and one ring bear, and yes, he is winking, what a stud!

Bucket List Birthday

At the beginning of this year, Ben sat down and made a bucket list, our wishes and dreams no matter how realistic they appeared, just for fun and because we were curious what some life long wishes were that we each had.  One of Ben’s bucket list items is learning to fly.  Me, on the other hand, have no desire to learn to fly, let alone fly in general, I prefer to keep my feet on the ground, where they belong ;)  Thus, Ben has never reallly pursued this dream because as he puts it, it would not be fun to fly alone.  We also decided this year, rather than buy eachother gifts for our birthdays we would instead give a gift of adventure together.  So I couldn’t have been more excited when I saw a great deal on Groupon for 50% off a helicopter ride over the Dundee Hills for two people with Holmes Helicopters.  I quickly purchased the deal and scheduled the flight as a gift for Ben’s birthday.  Last weekend, was our adventure, and I took some pictures to document.

Ben, looking pretty excited for his first helicopter ride.  Made us take the door off both sides, eek (did I mention flights and heights are not my thing).  At least I felt somewhat safe squished in the middle.

Ben took brought the flip cam to document, here I am feeling pretty good about the flight and ready to embrass it.

I must admit, I loved the ride, although I did get a little motion sick, you don’t really feel like your flying.  Since there is no runway, you just ever so delicately lift into the air.

We toured the Dundee Hills, this winery is the shape of amphitheater.

Kind of a strange angle, but this is Domaine Serene Winery, one of our favs!

The coolest part of the trip was when we flew through the river, it felt like we were in a video game.  Made me slightly sick, hence the expression on my face.  Ben brought along the flip cam and got some cool footage, here is a raw clip.

Thank goodness, helicopters can land just about anywhere, we made a pit stop so I could get some air on stable ground.

All in all, it was super fun, and would recommend anyone to do it, even if you are afraid of heights.  Its so much better than flying in a plane!  And, since a helicopter can arrive just about anywhere, its a great way to make a grand entrance to your wedding!  Happy Birthday Ben!

Portland Engagement- Jupiter Hotel: Cara + Joe

A few weeks ago I met up with Cara & Joe who won the engagement session contest via Portland Picks last spring on my blog.  Cara and Joe are originally from Oregon, but currently live in Virginia and were out here for a few weeks planning their wedding taking place next summer at the Gerding Theatre.  Since they are getting married in NW Portland, we decided to mix things up a bit with their engagement session on the east side at the Jupiter Hotel.  Cara is the author of an amazing blog called Cashews and Hummus where she writes about healthy food options and recipes.  Her blog is incredible filled with all kinds of healthy goodness, check it out!

Nothing like a little pillow fight for some engagement fun!

Olympia, Washington Wedding: Jenna + Matt

Jenna and Matt tied the knot a couple weeks ago in Olympia, Washington.  While the weather was cloudy, but no sign of rain in Portland, this clearly was not the case in Olympia.  It poured rain this August day.  Jenna couldn’t have been a more relaxed bride about the weather.  When her brother called her from the wedding site, asking her what to do about the water on the chairs, she simply replied with a smile on her face, that they would bring towels and umbrellas and this was Washington, nobody should be surprised by the rain.  I loved that nothing could come in the way of her joy of marrying her love.

The ceremony took place at Priest Point Park- a gorgeous park located in the middle of city center Olympia, Washington.

I could have walked the trails and photographed these two for hours, it was gorgeous!

The wedding reception took place at a vintage house called the Abigail Stewart House.  The picture below reminds me of a Norman Rockwell Illustration.

Thank you Jenna and Matt for inviting Ben and I to be apart of your day.  **Click Here** for the slideshow.

Portland Wedding: Brittany + Mike

A couple weeks ago I had the pleasure of assisting Melissa Tomeoni from Soul Mates Photography for Brittany and Mike’s wedding.

When Melissa and I saw this giant willow tree at the corner of the property, we swooned, so romantic.

Claire Pettibone Fashion Shoot

Today I was incredibly honored to be part of such a fun photo shoot.  It all was put together in less than a week, and I’d have to say, it went very well, and even Oregon’s weather cooperated!  Thank you overcast Oregon day in August!  Right after this shoot I had a meeting for another upcoming photo shoot, so here is just a preview of what is to come. This shoot was inspired because Claire Pettibone is coming to Portland, and AniA Collection will now carry her gorgeous dresses.  I cannot thank enough the models (and mom) who made this shoot so fun, they were up for anything, and as we were short on time (dresses shipping back to the designer immediately following the shoot, we ran from location to location :)  Thank you so much to Claire Pettibone for the dresses, Ania Collection for providing the dresses, AJ Lane for getting up incredibly early to provide gorgeous hair and make-up, Judy from Portland Perfect Wedding Guide who coordinated and facilitated the shoot, Petalos for providing the breathtaking bouquets, Jade from Jade Rose Designs who provided the gorgeous hair accessories and stayed with the entire shoot to place and pin with each dress and each hair piece, THANK YOU!

Today

I spent most of today listening to music, exploring the greater parts of the Portland area looking for locations for future photo shoots.  This plant caught my eye, oh what a beautiful state we live in.

Pearl District Engagement: Anthony + Stephanie

Last week I met up with Stephanie and Anthony for their engagement photos in the Pearl District in NW Portland.  We had a blast, and I was laughing so much I had a hard time holding my camera steady!  I am looking forward to their 2011 wedding at Persimmon Country Club.

Stephanie looks amazing in Red, and I think the image on the lower right is a favorite from this shoot!

Love her shoes!
